#3. Jenni Tyvitalo (2010) “The guardian's legal position in the investigation of the need for child protection”, University of Lapland Press
- Clientship for child protection begins with the authority's decision to investigate the need for child protection or, in some situations, an urgent intervention in the family's life is also involved. The purpose of child welfare is to protect the rights of the child, and therefore the client is the child. However, child protection always intervenes on a concrete level in the family's life.
The effects of child protection extend especially to the guardian's rights, which also requires a separate examination of the guardian's legal status in child protection measures. Highlighting the guardian's rights and examining these rights systematically requires that the guardian is also seen in child welfare as a parallel customer with the child.
The work's research method is jurisprudence. The research examines the norms governing the authority's competence in determining the need for child protection. The research highlights in which ways and under what conditions the authority has the right to make an investigation of the need for child protection.
The authority's competence is determined in particular by safeguarding the child's rights and realizing the child's best interests. However, the best interest of the child is an abstract concept, and is therefore not a sufficient legal argument as such. The research highlights the legal content of the child's interest and its importance as part of the authority's authority.
Based on the authority's jurisdiction, the research shows how the guardian's legal position is concretely addressed in the investigation of the need for child protection. The guardian's legal position is given a special perspective by fundamental and human rights, which have also given rise to legal restrictions on the authority's discretion... - https://lauda.ulapland.fi/bitstream/handle/10024/61055/Tyvitalo.Jenni.pdf?sequence=2&isAllowed=y

#4. Jenni Tyvitalo (2017) “The right of a disabled child to support: a discourse analysis of the recognition of children with ADHD symptoms”, University of Lapland Press
- My thesis examines the right of a disabled child to support. As the target group of the study, I chose children with ADHD symptoms, who represent the so-called invisible disabled group. Invisible disability is a socially valued concept. An invisible disability often does not arouse understanding in the observer, because it cannot be observed from the outside, and thus the reduced functional capacity due to the disability is easily questioned or even belittled.
The purpose of the study is to consider the right of children with ADHD symptoms to support and to outline the problem areas that occur in it. As a research method, I chose discourse analysis, which enabled the research topic to be examined freely in such a way that with my research it is possible to gain an understanding of the structural obstacles that affect everyday practices.
The final result of my thesis is that the disability of ADHD symptoms is not recognized, which can be seen in the practical realization of the child's rights. The first conclusion is that it is challenging for people with ADHD symptoms to fit into different environments with their special needs, and their right to participation has generally not been considered from a disability perspective.
Second, raising concerns due to the special nature is not taken seriously, which delays the receipt of child support. Thirdly, with regard to ADHD symptoms, there has been no consideration of functional service paths that would start from the early identification of special support. - https://lauda.ulapland.fi/bitstream/handle/10024/63018/Tyvitalo.Jenni.pdf?sequence=1

- Structure, development and organization of Lapland's higher education group. This evaluation study examines the group's development opportunities on both a macro and micro level.
The research brings out the realistic possibilities of a consortium-based cooperation network - but also illustrates the challenges it faces. Towards the Group is an enlightening report on the construction of one form of cooperation from the perspective of service entities that support basic tasks. - https://lauda.ulapland.fi/bitstream/handle/10024/61982/Kohti+konsernia_verkkoversio_pdfA.pdf?sequence=2
